Proposed Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Regulations 2024 – Public comment to open 15 January 2024

The proposed Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Regulations 2024 (proposed WIRC Regulations) and associated Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS).

 

Revised public comment dates

 

Further to WorkSafe's consultation to date this year, they have now confirmed that the proposed WIRC Regulations and associated RIS will open for public review and comment from Monday 15 January 2024until close of business Tuesday 13 February 2024.

 

During this time, employers, employees and members of the public will have the opportunity to review the proposed WIRC Regulations and associated RIS and make a submission via the Victorian Government’s public consultation website, Engage Victoria.

 

Following public comment, WorkSafe will consider all submissions and make further amendments to the proposed WIRC Regulations, where appropriate.

 

Approval will then be sought from the Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC, the Hon. Danny Pearson, to make the proposed WIRC Regulations.

 

The proposed WIRC Regulations will replace the existing Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Regulations 2014, which expire on 27 May 2024.
